We’re not your usual fitness – training – gym service.

We cater to real people and their functional needs. No lifting heavy weights for the sake of it, no body building regimes, no gym selfies, no overcrowded weight areas just PERSONAL training and coaching to get you to your goals as effectively as possible.

Our coaches are not in their 20’s fresh out of high school who will flog you to death when exercise doesn’t need to be hard and draining all the time. Our team members have had some life experience and are parents themselves. They understand life’s demands and can put together a program that will complement your world.

We are more than a PT  service.  We provide 1:1 fitness and mentoring sessions for young people and their families.

Having a back ground in Social Work and Youth work we both know that our physical health and mental health are dependant on each other.  Exercise is the foundation on which we build strong and healthy minds and emotions.

Our visions is to use movement therapeutically to create spaces for our community to become stronger , healthier and to create lasting positive change.

Jacara Thomas

Our head coach Jacara Thomas knows this better than anyone. She has worked in the Mental Health and counselling field as a social worker for over 7 years as well as being an athlete herself and can help you implement wholistic lifestyle changes for long term change.

Jacara has played at the highest level for softball, ran marathons and played amateur sport her whole life. She trained her way back from 2 caesarean births and throughout both her pregnancies.

Bachelor degree in social work specialising in Mental health and psychology.
Diploma in Fitness Coaching

Master Functional trainer ( FTI )
Level 1 Boxing coach

Shaun Thomas

Coach Shaun Thomas is a Professional Boxer as well as father of two and knows the challenges of maintaining a balanced life/training/weight.

Cert 4 in Fitness completed via AIPT.

20 years boxing experience including ;

Multiple Tasmanian Championships

Australian Championships silver medallist

Australian Representative 2002 Oceania Games- Bronze medallist

First Australian Aboriginal Boxing Team selected – 1999 mentored by Tony Mundine – Lionel Rose – George Bracken – Charlie Perkins

Tasmanian Aboriginal of the Year.

Years of experience working within the Youth Justice, Adult prison systems running treatment and therapeutic rehabilitation programs. Relationship Mediation with Relationships Australia and Family case support work.

We offer fun and effective training in a few different formats

Team Storm will conduct a full and thorough assessment and movement screen prior to commencing so we can tailor a fitness package specifically to your needs.

This means that you will be trained to move well and correct any weaknesses or imbalances. This will reduce the risk of injury and reduce ‘wear and tear’ on the body as you age.

Semi-Private PT

30-45 minute session with 3-4 people. Great for a small group of people who want personal training but at the shared cost of working with a group.

A Few Questions We Get A Lot…

Do you offer meal plans?

We do not offer meal plans ..we do offer nutritional coaching but we are not nutritionist so we cant do specific plans..but we can refer you to good ones.

Can you help me become a bodybuilder?

Unfortunately, we are not able to cater to body builders. We don’t have the equipment (platforms, barbells etc.) for people to be learning and performing big lifts and Olympic lifts.

Can you come to us ?

Yes! Certain services that Storm provides are mobile. As long as you are in the North/ North-Western Suburbs of Melbourne  If you’re not sure, get in touch and we’ll let you know!
